I kept having the same exact problem before, & you have no idea how frustrated I was omg, but apparently GIFs show up as grey polaroids on your dashboard if it doesn’t have the “media.tumblr” URL. So what you need to do is:
- Save the GIF onto your computer
- Make a new text post
- Click the grey “upload photo” link at the top right corner & upload your gif
- Click “HTML” & use the gif URL that shows up there (for Step #4)
